statement

As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, aspects of my work explicitly address issues of social justice, while other works address the emotional landscape of my queer identity in a more implicit manner.

I am currently fascinated by textures, textures that an eye can see, textures that the ear can hear, and textures a heart can feel. Texture grants nuance to ideas and intimacy to communication and connection. Texture invites us to consider complexity and the many layers of an object, an experience, or a relationship.

I work in oil paint, reeds, and mixed media (digital photography, ephemera, and encaustic), endeavoring to bring texture to all I make.
